Global Women's Circle Meeting
Join us Sunday, May 31, in the Fellowship Hall at 12:15 for a light lunch and a program of information, prayer, and fellowship after worship. We'll have an update on the Traditional Birth Attendants we support in Haiti and a call to prayer from our partner Sangte in earthquake-devastated Nepal. For our mission action, bring small, educational toys for children aged 2 and under. Suggested items include textured stuffed animals, stacking toys, pacifiers and teethers, and toys for learning numbers. These toys will go to Moldova in June with the Global Women team who are again holding summer camp for women and children in Beginning of Life, the end-sex-trafficking program we support there. The GW team also includes again our former member, Jean Taff.
Never been to a Global Women’s Circle meeting? Don't know who we are? You have a special invitation to join us. At FBCX, our women’s missions program identifies itself with the national organization, Global Women, headquartered in Pelham, Alabama. GW brings women together to address problems that affect the daily life and well-being of women around the world: sex trafficking, clean water, maternal health, education, and economic development. How? We support and fund the efforts of indigenous Christian women at work in their home countries to address one or more of these problems. Presently, we support 15 different programs in nine countries: Haiti, Myanmar, Uganda, Moldova, Zambia, Romania, India, and two Central Asian countries that must not be named in order to protect the women and their ministries located there.
This is good work, and we thank God for it. Our own FBCX circle supports local initiatives focused on vulnerable women in Macon as well as the efforts of our global partners. Especially among these, our offerings fund two of the 61 birth attendants supported by GW in Haiti and contribute to the work of Missy Ward, a CBF missionary helping refugee women in Uganda. Come be a part of us!
