We’re proud of our Baptist history and heritage, but we’re also proud of our diversity. At First Baptist you will find a group of people coming from a variety of different church backgrounds and denominations who have found a home at the “top of Poplar.” And while our congregation comes from all over middle Georgia, we are a downtown church and see it is our mission to be the presence of Christ to our InTown and College Hill communities here in Macon.

Church-wide Day of Service March 5

All are invited to serve in some way on Saturday, March 5.  

Mission opportunities include:  

Service Opportunities for all ages:

  • Pack grocery bags for the FBCX Crisis Closet -  9:30-11:30 a.m.

  • Make and deliver baked goods to Ronald McDonald House and community helpers  - 9:30-11:30 a.m. 

  • Do activities with residents of a nursing home (music, play games, crafts, etc.) -- 10:30-12:00 a.m.

  • Cleanup workday at Macon Outreach (participants will not have interaction with clients) - Morning

  • Instructions and supplies for take-home missions activities, like creating cards for homebound members and preparing care bags for people in need, will be provided at the church on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Service Opportunities for Youth and Adults:

  • Prepare and serve lunch for the homeless at Christ Church - 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

  • Replace siding on a home with Rebuilding Macon (age 14+; no experience necessary) -- 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  

  • Help with FBCX Grounds Workday - 9:00 a.m.
