FBC Macon

Nurture. Love. Serve. ALL.

We’re proud of our Baptist history and heritage, but we’re also proud of our diversity. At First Baptist you will find a group of people coming from a variety of different church backgrounds and denominations who have found a home at the “top of Poplar.” And while our congregation comes from all over middle Georgia, we are a downtown church and see it is our mission to be the presence of Christ to our InTown and College Hill communities here in Macon.

During the month of May we collected supplies for the Refuge and Hope Center in Uganda. We collected jewelry, scarves, sewing supplies, hygiene items. McAfee students traveled to Uganda under the leadership of Dr. Melissa Browning to lead a retreat for the staff of Refuge and Hope and delivered the items we collected. She will be with us at our meeting after the morning worship service to tell us about their trip.  She’ll also share about her dissertation work that led to the publishing of her book, “Risky Marriage: HIV and Intimate Relationships in Tanzania”.  You can read about her bio here:  https://theology.mercer.edu/faculty-staff/melissa-browning.cfm

Join us immediately following the morning worship service for lunch and to hear Dr. Browning.  Please let Julie Long know if you need childcare. Invite your friends!
