FBC Macon

Nurture. Love. Serve. ALL.

We’re proud of our Baptist history and heritage, but we’re also proud of our diversity. At First Baptist you will find a group of people coming from a variety of different church backgrounds and denominations who have found a home at the “top of Poplar.” And while our congregation comes from all over middle Georgia, we are a downtown church and see it is our mission to be the presence of Christ to our InTown and College Hill communities here in Macon.

Lent for Children and Families

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 14.  Here are ways families with children can observe the season.

Family Faith Jars

Pick up one of these jars with faith practices or discussion starters.  Draw one to use at the dinner table or before bedtime.  The jars will be available beginning Sunday, Feb. 4, on the table in the Education Building Lobby.

Ash Wednesday Service
Wednesday, February 14, 6:15 p.m.,  FBCX Sanctuary
There will be no choir or missions groups meeting this night.  Children are invited to join with Mrs. Julie at 6:15 to learn more about what Ash Wednesday and Lent mean.  Then, they will join with families towards the end of the service to receive ashes upon their foreheads (if they choose).  Childcare will be provided for nursery aged or preschool children who choose not to attend the service.
