Our Nursery
Here at First Baptist, we take Jesus at his word when he said, “Let the little children come to me….” (Luke 18:16), and we welcome all of God’s children to learn and grow together in this place. We believe that part of our mission is to “train a child up in the way that he or she should go” (Proverbs 22:6), and we covenant together as a community of faith to love, nurture, and teach each child in the ways of faith and the love of Christ.
A child’s earliest needs are to feel safe and loved. We believe that children begin their first faith steps in our nursery – it is here that they experience God’s love and learn to trust. A child’s attitude towards church and God are often formed in these important years of growth. Paid childcare workers for ages birth-3 are consistent caregivers that know our infants and toddlers personally and allow our children a sense of comfort and familiarity.
Our church celebrates the birth of new babies and participates in a service of Parent-Child-Congregation Dedication. Individual dedications are scheduled during the morning worship service at a time the family chooses. The entire congregation joins the family in praying for and committing to the spiritual nurture of the child.
